Le Manoir De Paris, Paris Overview

An exemplary destination for all horror fans, Le Manoir de Paris, is a haunted show fashioned after 17 Parisian legends from the 18th-20th centuries. It brings to life these horrific myths and aims for visitors to have a thrilling, spooky and above all, an interactive experience.

With five levels of “fearful” activities, the Manoir de Paris is spread across three floors of 500 sq. m. with 23 rooms in total. This theatrical menace is effective as it employs 30 actors, thick black velvet covers, and ominous costumes and sets to create the visuals.

Apart from the 14 legends of Paris, Le Manoir de Paris is oriented towards organizing different shows depending on seasons and occasions. Some of these shows are:

Royal Hotel Paradis

In special honor for those who are still thriving from the monsters from the two floors, the third floor greats them to a hotel setting where monsters lurk and can pounce at any moment. The entire third floor is transformed into this hotel and this is an added spectacle available through the ticket bought.

Dark Night

A special experience held every Friday the 13th of the year and Valentine’s Day, Dark Night drives visitors to find their way through the pitch darkness of the house alone with monsters tailing them at all corners. The Legends of Paris is closed to provide for an absolute dark through which the visitors have to find their way to the light.

Halloween

A special event organized for the day of all horrors, Le Manoir de Paris goes out of its way to make Halloween a remarkable spectacle. Hundred more actors are called upon, extra hair-rising events are added, the environment and effects are amped-up. The event celebration goes on for the entire month.

Winter Show

An enthralling show dedicated to the all the horrors in relation to Christmas! Be it bloodthirsty elves or the grumpy grinch, the monsters of Le Manoir de Paris are hungry for all your treats and are coming at you to steal those presents with a conniving use of dark magic! Every year they follow new themes to engage the visitors.

Skeleton Key - Escape Games at Le Manoir de Paris

Apart from the dedicated horror events, Le Manoir de Paris also specializes in providing escape games for groups wherein teams have to work together to escape the tough altitudes of thrills, adventure and suspense in less than 60 minutes. There are currently two escape games being hosted at Skeleton Key - Wanted (2-6 participants) and The Crypt Maudite (3-8 participants). The games are held between Wednesday to Sunday every week.

History of Le Manoir de Paris

The place where this haunted house stands today was initially home to a leper colony called the Saint-Lazare precinct, alongside the Prison Saint-Lazare. The area around the land where it is situated had two slum settlements along with the Porte Saint-Denis. In the late 19th-century, the Choisy-le-Roi ceramics workshops as a part of Hippolyte Boulenger set up shop and built their new head office at the place where this manor stands today.

Le Manoir de Paris is Paris’ first haunted house that emerged as a considerable success relatively sooner rather than later. Adil Houti, the person who was the initiator of this project, was an American living in Paris and went on to create two similar houses in America, after seeing that people loved the idea of a haunted house.

The closest metro stations to the haunted house are Poissonniere (Line 7), Bonne Nouvelle (Lines 8 and 9) and Gare de l’Est (Lines 4, 5 and 7).

The nearest bus stop is called Faubourg Saint Denis (Line 32).
