Located behind Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park area of Metro Manila, Manila Ocean Park is one of the premiere marine themed parks in the Philippines. Known to be the first of its kind in all of the archipelago, the park is more precisely an oceanarium and/or a sea museum that sprawls over a humongous area. The park was opened in 2008 and has been a common favourite of the locals and tourists ever since owing to its seven vast sections that house more than 13000 sea creatures from 277 species. The prime highlight of the park is its 25 metre glass tunnel that lets you have a first hand experience of the marine life. Besides the sharks, eels and stingrays floating above, beside and in front of you, you can also slip on a mermaid suit and go watch the penguins in a freezing cold temperature.
In addition to this, you can also watch the sea lion and bird shows and enjoy a 4D ride. Located right next to the Manila Bay, the water for the park is also sourced from here. In addition to that, the close vicinity to the bay makes it an accessible point to a plethora of dining options and other major attractions. What's more, the park also has a hotel of its own called the Hotel H2O where you can enjoy a perfectly comfortable stay amidst pleasant ambiance.
