Kumamoto City Contemporary Art Museum, Kumamoto Overview
A downtown gallery with permanent rooms by James Turrell and Marina Abramovic built into the building itself, alongside changing exhibitions. A good part of it, including the library and lounge, is free to walk into, so it carries almost no risk if you only have half an hour. It is on the main shopping arcade, which makes it the easiest wet-afternoon option in the city centre.
