Lafcadio Hearn's Former Residence, Kumamoto Overview
The house where Lafcadio Hearn lived through his first year teaching in Kumamoto from 1891, kept as it was with his desk, the household shrine and the small garden he wrote about. It costs 200 yen and takes twenty minutes, which is exactly its use: two minutes from a tram stop, it slots between the castle and Suizenji without rearranging the day.
