Hari Mahal Palace, Jaipur Overview

Hari Mahal Palace is one of the best heritage hotels in Jaipur, for experiencing the Heritage of the city. The palace is located in the heart of the city and was built as the residence of Rajadhiraj Hari Singhji of Achrol. Rajadhiraj Mahendra Singh, the descendant of the Achrol family is still living in one part of the palace and the other part of the palace has now been converted into a Heritage Hotel. The architecture of the Palace is mixed up in Rajputana, Mughal, and British styles. Hari Mahal was built in 1930 by the descendants of Maharaja Prithvi Raj of Amber.

Places to Visit near Hari Mahal Palace

  • Amber Fort: Amber Palace, the fort is located on a hill of Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles).  Built by Raja Man Singh, the fort, which is also spelt as Amer fort, is a scenic marvel. It stands on top of an easily scalable mountain, which is situated right next to the beautiful Maota Lake. Highlights include the chamber of a thousand mirrors is possibly the most beautiful of all of the inner rooms which supposedly can be fully lit just by a single candle.
  • Sambhar Lake: The Sambhar Salt Lake is the biggest inland salt lake in India and even mentioned in the legendary epic, ‘Mahabharata’. History expresses that the lake was a piece of the kingdom of a devil lord known as ‘Brishparva’.
  • City Palace: The City Palace is one of the cherished attractions in the city.  There are two main entrances of the palace. These entrance gates are beautifully decorated and the palace complex is constructed in ‘Grid Style’ and features different attractions namely, ‘Chandra Mahal’, ‘Govind Dev Ji Temple’, ‘Mubarak Mahal’, and ‘Diwan-I-Khas’. The Palace Walls are beautifully decorated in Mughal Style.
  • Nahargarh Fort: The fort was originally built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1734 but was turned into ruins by 1868. The fort is a mix of Indo-European architecture styles. During the decade of the 1880s, Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh turned this fort into a monsoon resort. Nahargarh is located along the Aravalli hills overlooking a beautiful lake. The fort now also is home to the Jaipur wax museum and glass palace.
  • Jaigarh Fort: Mostly known as the Fort of Victory this particular fort is constructed to store the weapons and other military utilities. This striking construction stands at the top of the Aravalli ranges and is considered as the strongest monument in Jaipur. The Fort is made-up of sandstones and is spread over an area of 3 km.
  • Albert Hall Museum: The building of the Albert Hall Museum was built in 1876 as a concert hall. The museum gets its name from the Victoria and Albert Museum of London, because of the similarity of architecture.  In 1880, Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II approved a suggestion by Dr Thomas Holbein Hendley to open it as a museum of Industrial Arts in order to display products of the local craftsmen and till the date, the museum stands tall representing historical grandeur.

This wing takes travelers back to the times of the royal era.
  • Family Wing: The suites in this wing comprises of 3 bedrooms offering a comfortable stay with luxurious facilities. This suite comprises of an elegant living room, a pantry and 3 spacious bedrooms having separate bathrooms.
  • Deluxe Wing: The Deluxe Wing at Hari Mahal Palace has 29 deluxe rooms. The newly constructed wing is named Tirthraj. This suite comprises of a tastefully done living space, furniture, and the wi-fi facility. These rooms are equipped with modern amenities, a common living area, and fully equipped kitchen, sit out area, etc.
