Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, Houston Overview

Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, as the name suggests, is a pier located in Galveston, Texas. This pleasure pier was opened to the public in 2012 and it is reconstructed at the place of an old one that was destroyed in 1961 by Hurricane Carla.

Built on the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier has one roller coaster, 15 rides, and several family-oriented games. The most famous is the Iron Shark rollercoaster which over 100 feet tall. Other attractions are Galaxy Wheel – a 100-foot-tall Ferris wheel, Texas Star Flyer, and more. The amusement park has extensive dining options on and near the pier with pizzas, burgers, shrimps, wines, and more to pick from.
