Tra Kieu, Hoi An Overview

The first capital of the Cham Empire from the 4th century to the 8th century, Tra Kieu was discovered in the 19th century. This historical administrative stronghold now shelters relics like iconic roof tiles with face motifs, Hindu statues, and artefacts housed within the Cham Museum. The site is also a reminder of Vietnam's multicultural influence, housing the Marian Shrine of the Lady of Tra Kieu, an important pilgrimage destination for the country's Catholics.
