Grand Mosque, Dubai Overview

Home to Dubai's tallest minaret (70m), the Grand Mosque or the Grand Bur Dubai Masjid is an Iranian style mosque that is part of the city's heritage district. The interiors of the mosque is filled with beautiful blue mosaic work that attracts visitors from all over. The mosque is off limits to non-muslims. Built in 1900, the mosque was initially an Islamic Scool forthe teachings of the Quran and was rebuilt in 1998 as a Mosque to the public.

As one of the most visited buildings in the UAE, Grand Bur Dubai Masjid not only serves as a place of worship and Friday gathering, but also as a center of learning and discovery through its education and visitor programs.

Tickets and Entry Fee

Tthe entry for the mosque is free. But there are guided tours available that start at AED 25. 

Dress Code

  • When entering the mosque, the hands and knees should be covered.
  • Women should cover their heads, wear loose clothing and preferable full length clothes and a long sleeped top.

It is located right opposite Dubai Museum. 
Nearest metro station: Al Fahidi Metro Station (1 kms). You can walk or take a taxi here.
