Digha in Winter (October - February)

This is the best time to visit Digha because the weather is pleasant with temperature ranging between 3 and 28 degrees. You can enjoy the beaches and water sports like skiing, scuba diving and lots more, shop at the local shops. Make sure you book the hotels in advance because the rush of tourists is on a high during winters. The beaches are crowded, but the serenity remains untouched. During the days, you can stay at the beaches. At nights, you can walk on the beaches and feel the winds against your face. During winters, Durga Puja is celebrated auspiciously in Bengal. Digha also participates in that celebration, and the entire city, along with the beaches look more vibrant at this time. Besides, beach parties are held during Christmas and New Year's. So, this is a great time to visit Digha. If you are planning to visit the place during this season, make sure to book your hotels in advance because many tourists prefer winters and the crowd are comparatively more.

Digha has hot and humid summers starting from March, with a temperature rising to 38 degrees. Visiting the beaches in the excessively hot weather is not pleasant as it causes a great deal of sweat and discomfort. This season does not invite many tourists and hence is a good time for budget travellers. You can avail discounts on hotels at this time. The crowd is also minimal. Therefore, avoid visiting Digha during summers and even if you do, carry ample sun protection gears.

Monsoon season sets in from July and lasts till September. It brings down the temperature and is a relief from the extreme heat. However, it is still not a good time to visit beaches because of the danger of high tides. Even taking a walk on the beach becomes uncomfortable because of unpredictable rains and high humidity. During the rains, you can take a walk around the neighbourhoods near the beaches and enjoy the city instead. But since water sports and beaches cannot be experienced during monsoon, people avoid visiting Digha during monsoon.
