Raja Rajeshwari Temple, Yercaud Overview

One of the major attractions for visitors in Yercaud, Sri Raja Rajeshwari Temple is dedicated to Raja Rajeshwari who is said to be the Goddess of all Gods. It is believed according to Hindu belief that one can achieve success and wealth by offering to devote oneself to the Goddess whole-heartedly. The huge idol of Sri Raja Rajeshwari can be spotted in a sitting posture which is 4.5 feet tall and is surrounded by a surfeit of Gods. The idol of the main Goddess is surrounded by idols of other Hindu Gods including Lakshmi, Vishnu, Rudra, Brahma, and Saraswathi. Best Time To Visit Raja Rajeshwari Temple

It is advisable to visit the temple in mid-May since the annual festival of Lord Servarayan, who is the presiding deity of the Shevaroy Hills, is celebrated during this time. A seven-day exhibition of dog shows, flowers, boating races, and a village fair is organized during this time which should definitely be attended by all the tourists coming to visit Yercaud.

How To Reach Raja Rajeshwari Temple

Sri Raja Rajeshwari Temple is situated at a distance of 4 km from the Yercaud Bus Stand and 3 km away from Shevaroy Temple. Cabs and auto rickshaws which are easily available here can be taken to move ahead and reach the temple from the bus stand. Auto rickshaw will cost approximately INR 550 for a one-day trip to the temple and other major attractions nearby including Gent's seat, Rose Garden, Lady's seat, etc. You can also hire a four-seater car for INR 650.
