Lempad House, Ubud Overview

Lempad's House in Bali pays homage to the unique craft of the legendary Balinese artist, I Gusti Nyoman Lempad. Responsible for the distinct style of architecture that most of Bali's temples and palaces have become emblematic of, Lempad is a household name in Ubud. The artist's residence has been turned into a gallery of some of his artworks that can be viewed.

The estate is still run by his surviving family members and is complete with a beautiful Balinese garden. Lempad’s House is commonly referred to as The Lempad of Bali House. The house is well-maintained and is open for public visits. It is being managed by the late artist’s surviving family. On selected days, one family member greets the visitors and gives them a tour of the house while narrating Lempad’s life experiences. Visitors must note that Lempad’s House does not display the legendary artist’s complete collection as many artworks are exhibited in museums.
