St. Sebastian, Salzburg Overview

Located outside St. Sebastian’s Church is the St. Sebastian’s Cemetery, a combined burial site and architectural masterpiece. One of the main attractions of the cemetery is the Gabriel Chapel, which is the mausoleum of Prince-Archbishop Dietrich.

Built in 1502, it was designed by Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich in the fashion of an Italian campo Santo and built according to the plans of Elia Castello. St. Sebastian’s Cemetery is home to the graves of many notable personalities such as Paracelsus, and Mozart’s father, wife and her second husband.
