Capuchin Monastery, Salzburg, Salzburg Overview

Atop the Kapuzinerberg Moutain sits the famous Capuchin Monastery. The Capuchin Monastery is considered one of Salzburg's most picturesque spots. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are several attractions here that have an outstanding architecture.

In 1594, Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich decided to convert the Trompeterschlösschen tower into a monastery with a church. On route to the monastery, one can find six Baroque Stations of the Cross, which were built by artists in the eighteenth century. Attractions at the monastery include the Passion Chapel and Felix Gate, both known for their modest architecture.
