Solar Energy Park, Raipur Overview

Energy Park is also called as Urja Park is an energy education park whose primary objective is to create awareness and perpetuate the habit of energy saving. It is fun-based theme park where the kids can learn while they play. The park has a garden of trees giving exposure to many kinds of fauna all of which are maintained neatly.

Set up by Chattisgarh Renewable Development Agency (CRDA), it is a combination of excitement and knowledge for the kids. The park uses renewable sources of energy, especially solar energy, to run most of the rides. The park has a lush of greenery accompanied with exciting science puzzles, boating and musical fountains.

There are also musical fountains shows that are conducted occasionally when there is a reasonable amount of crowd. In the artificial lake within the park, children can paddle solar boats and play in solar toy cars. There are also food stalls within the premises where the hunger pangs can be satisfied. Although there aren’t many food options in the stalls, they are excellent and hygienic enough to grab a quick bite.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit the park is between the months of November and February during which the temperate is cool and pleasant. Summer in Raipur can get extremely humid. Spending the day in the open space of the park can get tiring. Thus, visiting the park during that time of the year is not recommended.

How To Reach Solar Energy Park

The park is 10 kilometers from the centre of the city. Local buses, autos and taxis are available to reach the energy park. The park is 7.5 kilometers from the airport in Raipur. The closest railway station is in Raipur at a distance of 10 kilometers from the park. Local transportations are available at affordable rates and can also be accessed easily from any given point in the city.
