"Thailand’s beach city of nightlife, islands, and entertainment"

Pattaya Tourism

Pattaya is a coastal city in the Gulf of Thailand, located 150km southeast of Bangkok, a two-hour drive away. The beaches and islands in Pattaya offer a wide variety of watersports, snorkelling options, restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops, making it ideal for families, friends and couples. The nightlife in Pattaya is quite famous for being loud, flashy and handsy.

Pattaya boasts a series of picturesque beaches, each with its own unique charm. Pattaya Beach is the city's main beach, lined with a bustling promenade, water sports, and plenty of beachfront dining options. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, Jomtien Beach is a great choice. Pattaya also offers a wide array of water-based activities. You can go scuba diving, snorkeling, jet skiing, parasailing, or take a boat trip to nearby islands.

The city comes to life after dark with its vibrant and diverse nightlife. Walking Street in Pattaya is characterized by bright street lights and signs hovering over open bars, go-go bars, and women standing along the streets. Cabaret shows such as the Alcazar Show and Tiffany's Cabaret Show are also popular tourist attractions during the night. Located within a two-hour drive from Bangkok, most tourists to Pattaya come via trains, buses, or cars from the capital.

Established around a wide crescent-shaped bay, Pattaya is an ideal destination for adventure lovers and party buffs. With its beautiful and serene beaches, swaying palm groves, and clear blue sky, Pattaya can make anyone fall in love with its diversity. It is not just for partygoers; it's also family-friendly. The city caters to the varied interests of its visitors, offering a plethora of tourist attractions ranging from zoos, theme parks, botanical gardens, temples, markets, illuminating streets at night, water sports activities, and relaxing tropical settings.

Pattaya is divided into three zones: North, Central, and South, each offering something different. The place attracts many tourists every year to explore and enjoy the raw beauty of nature sprinkled across Pattaya.

  • Bangkok to Pattaya: There are big buses to Pattaya from all three bus terminals in Bangkok, all arriving at Pattaya Northern Bus Station. You can also opt for the Bangkok–Pattaya van, which leaves from different locations throughout Bangkok. Both of these cost between THB120 and THB400. Taxis are also available from Bangkok airport and other locations, costing between THB1,700 for a 3-passenger car to THB4,000 for a private car.
  • Bangkok Airport to Pattaya: You can directly get a bus from the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. Buses operate from the lower level of the airport and depart every two hours between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The tickets can be bought on the spot. You can also pre-book a taxi from a local operator, which costs less than booking a taxi from Uber or Grab.
