Located at 9610 Old Cutler Road, south of Coral Gables, in Miami, Matheson Hammock Park is 630-acres of vast stretches of Florida mangroves and hardwood forests, as well as planned green spaces.
Matheson Hammock Park has a very picturesque and natural backdrop of South Florida’s gorgeous waterfront. Sand lines the water, making a pristine beach. The park also makes a great picnic spot with its scenic lakes. Coral rock pavilions and picnic areas with charcoal grills and benches dot the entire park. There is also a playground for kids. You can go biking on the park’s nature trails or bird watch. Rare birds such as sulfur-bellied flycatchers, black-throated gray warblers, and Townsend’s warbler can be spotted here.
