The Iao Valley State Park is a 4000 acre park that is home to the famous Iao Needle, a 1200 ft lava remnant in the middle of the valley. The park is home to a rich collection of flora and fauna, which attracts hikers and campers to its grounds. The Heritage Garden on the grounds pays homage to the multiple cultures that have had an influence on the islands of Hawaii. This includes tributes to the local tribes, American and Filipino traditions.
