United Orthodox Synagogues, Houston Overview
Commonly referred to as the UOS the United Orthodix synagogues were formed 50 years ago when the oldest 3 synagogues namely, Adath Israel, Adath Emeth and Beth Jacob merged together to form one synagogue to unite the smaller Jewish community. Today the UOS are a modern ordothox community synagogue, with and extremely beautiful residence area near the synagogue itself.
The UOS believes in the philosophy of Torah u’Mada which basically explains the relation between Judaism and the secular world as a whole. They aim at the utmost level of spiritual growth and accept intellectual inquiry as well as expression in both secular and religious areas of life. They also believe that no one should be made to feel uncomfortable regardless of their religion or belief.
