Chamba, located near Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh, is a historic town on the banks of the Ravi River, known for its ancient temples such as the Lakshmi Narayan Temple and its traditional Pahari paintings. Many visitors to Dalhousie take a day trip here to explore the heritage sites and the surrounding Himalayan valleys.

Chamba also houses a popular museum, the Bhuri Singh Museum, where one can find a number of paintings, inscriptions and much of what the history of Chamba rulers left behind. One may also visit the Rang Mahal or old palace in the district which houses the Himachal emporium. The emporium sells a number of local specialties such as shawls, chappels etc. The emporium is open all days of the week except Sunday, 10:00 AM-5:00PM, with a one hour break in the afternoon from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM.
