St. Lawrence's Church, Colombo Overview
Situated in Wellawatte, Colombo, The St. Lawrence Church is one of the oldest churches of Sri Lanka. Dedicated to St. Lawrence, the patron saint of Sri Lanka Colombo, it is also a worship place for Parish of Wellawatte.
On 17 january 1954 The Archbishop of Colombo, Thomas company laid the foundation stone of the new church and was completed after 14 years. The church was consecrated on 6 March 1968 by Cardinal cooray.
