Scuba Diving, Colombo Overview
Colombo's own coastline has a handful of wreck-diving sites, but Sri Lanka's best-known reefs and visibility are further south and east, around Hikkaduwa, Kalpitiya and Trincomalee. Divers based in Colombo typically book through city dive shops for day trips to those coasts rather than diving at the city beaches. Book a day or two ahead so operators have time to arrange transport and gear.
There are many spots for scuba diving in Colombo which include wrecks of big Cargo vessels and small boats, that have now become home to colorful marine animals, thus making the spots popular for snorkeling and diving.

Famous Dive Spots in Colombo
