Fort Area, Colombo Overview
The Fort area in Colombo is the central business and financial district with a busy harbor, the stock exchange, and the World Trade Centre, which is the country's biggest building. It is the best place to see Colombo's colonial buildings and monuments. This dynamic district offers everything from food and heritage to nightlife and casinos.
Fort was heavily restricted during Sri Lanka's civil war (1983 to 2009), and it has been fully open since the war ended. Today the district mixes working government and financial buildings, including the Central Bank and stock exchange, with restored colonial-era structures like the Old Dutch Hospital and the Cargills building. Most sights are walkable in two to three hours; mornings avoid the afternoon heat and office traffic.

1.World Trade Centre
The World Trade Center is Sri Lanka’s tallest building and the fourth tallest twin tower building in South Asia. This building is the emblem for Colombo's increasingly caruscating world business,offering state-of-the-art offices and facilities alongside several restaurants, shops and other entertainment venues. 2. Old Colombo Lighthouse

This elegant Victorian Tower guided safe entry into the harbor as it shone upto seventeen miles in the sea.
