Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Pakke Wildlife Sanctuary, is located in Arunachal Pradesh and spans over 862 square kilometers. It is renowned for its rich biodiversity, housing species like the Bengal tiger, Asian elephant, and various hornbills. The sanctuary is part of the Eastern Himalayas and offers a mix of tropical and subtropical forests, making it a haven for wildlife and birdwatchers. The sanctuary is also recognized for its conservation efforts, particularly for hornbill nesting and habitat preservation.
Tiger, leopard, clouded Leopard, jungle cat, wild dog Jackal, Himalayan Black Bear, Binturong, Elephant, Gaur, Samber, Hog deer, Barking Deer, Wilboar, Yellow throated martin and so so many more animal species can be found here. Nearly 300 species of birds call this reserve their home too. It is aslso known as the Pakke Tiger Reserve as the sanctuary aims at preserving and protecting the Royal Bengal Tiger.
