Stonyridge, Auckland Overview

Stonyridge is a beautiful world-renowned vineyard located on Waiheke Island, near Auckland, New Zealand. Stonyridge cultivates its wines using the same time-tested methods that the original pioneers of wine production, the French, used. Stonyridge's vineyards produce some of the country's best Cabernet and Bourdeaux wines. In addition, it makes prime categories of estate-grown wines, routinely conferred some of the wine industry's highest awards.

History

Stephen White- owner and founder of Stonyridge vineyard, fell in love with the culture and lifestyle of the Mediterranean and the delicious red wines of France, Tuscany and California and wanted to recreate the experience in Auckland. The glorious olive garden, set amidst the Stonyridge valley evokes the Mediterranean feels and is the perfect getaway destination from the hustle and bustle of the noisy city.

Best Time to Visit

Auckland is beautiful during summer. The rippling sparkling water flows by, with gentle breeze swinging around to give you the perfect summer holiday vibes. Stonyridge in specific is gorgeous during spring when the vineyard smells all fresh, and one can gaze upon the beauty of the olive valleys sitting beside the enchanting French Cafe of the vineyard.

The ideal time to visit Stonyridge would be the month of October, when the temperature is also easy to breathe, with slight rainfall. Stonyridge would be a great visit during December-February but, would be a little crowded than usual. Also, hotel prices are a little higher during this time.

How To Reach Stonyridge

Stonyridge is situated in Waiheke Island of New Zealand. Multiple options are available to reach there. One can enjoy the gorgeous ferry ride and explore the gleaming Waitemata Harbour on the way to Stonyridge.
It takes approximately 35-40 minutes in a fairy Cruise to reach Waiheke Island from Downtown Ferry Terminal. After reaching the island, one can hire a taxi or rent a car to drive to the beautiful Stonyridge.
Also, public transportation is not a bad option.
If one does not want to get into the sea, then the vineyard has a personal helipad as well.
One can take a chopper ride and enjoy an aerial view of the beautiful Island, and enjoy the lavish greeting provided by Stonyridge.
