Best Time to Skydive in Seattle

March to October is the best time to go Skydiving in Seattle. The clear skies and sunny weather make for some breathtaking panoramic views! Winters in Seattle are usually harsh with heavy rains and snow, are not ideal for skydiving. That being said, skydiving is a year-round sport, and you can go skydiving in the winter provided you prepare for the cooler temperatures. Don’t worry, if the weather is off, the instructor will reschedule to another date!

Requirements

Age: You must be over 18 and carry documents to prove it. A driver’s license or passport can be considered age proof. Parental consent forms for minors are not accepted. Passengers over 65 can skydive with permission from a doctor.

Weight: For safety reasons, you cannot go skydiving if you weigh more than 200 lbs. For those above 6 feet, instructors may allow up to 240 lbs.

Deposit: Many skydiving companies will ask that you make a USD 50 non-refundable deposit. This is so that you don’t change your mind at the last minute on the airplane.

  • Check the weather before you make a reservation. While cloudy weather may not affect your jump, you’ll miss out on the views.
  • Skydiving is very safe for an extreme sport. Being nervous is normal but just remember you are tied to an experienced instructor who has done this a hundred times before! So relax and enjoy the adrenaline rush!
  • Eat a moderate meal before your skydive, nothing too heavy and absolutely not on an empty stomach!
  • Wear comfortable clothes and laced up shoes. You can ask for a jumpsuit if you are not comfortable jumping in the clothes you’re wearing
  • If you have any medical problems like a previously dislocated shoulder or blood pressure, clear out with a doctor before you go skydiving
  • Don’t forget to get your tandem jump on camera. You’ll want to relieve your six minutes of bliss and glory! So choose your media options while making reservations.
  • Most importantly, have fun! Skydiving in Seattle can be nerve-wracking but is an experience that you will remember forever. So don’t stress out too much and enjoy the feeling!
