Egypt Visa

Visa on arrival facilities are granted mainly to the citizens of USA, Europe, UK, Japan and New Zealand, which can be applied at Cairo International Airport at immigration. Other applicants will need to submit an online application. Foreigners are generally granted an e-visa by applying on Egypt e-visa portal. This would be a single-entry visa, unless stated otherwise, within six months of its issue. The process can take about 15 days, with a single entry visa costs around USD 25.

Visa Policy for Indians

Indian citizens can apply visa elctronically or by submitting a physical application with Egypt Embassy in India. Some Indians are also eligible for visa on arrival.

Visa on arrival for Indians: Indians having US or Shengen visa are eligible for visa on arrival in Egypt.

E-visa for Indians: Indians can get an e-visa to Egypt by filling up their application on Egypt e-visa portal under group traveller. For this, apart from usual documents like passport and itinerary details, they would need to have a guarantee letter which can be obtained from an Egyptian tour guide. In certain cases, it can also be obtained from the hotel they are staying during their visit. The process time to obtain Egyptian visa is 15 days.

A single entry e-visa to Egypt for Indians costs around INR 2700 which is valid for 90 days.

Physical Visa with Egypyian Embassy: The applicant needs to visit Egyptian Embassy with a filled application form and required documents to attain an visa sticker to travel to Egypt. A visa processing fee of INR 2700, for single entry visa, needs to paid during the process. Visa processing time is around 10-15 days. 

Visa for Indians - Fee & Requirements

  • Visa form duly filled and signed.
  • Original passport valid for six months and with minimum two blank pages for Visa Stamp
  • Two passport size photos (not more than 3 months old) with white background (35mm X 45mm)
  • A cover letter with detailed itinerary mentioning hotels and transfer reservation proofs or a guarantee or invitation letter from an Egyptian local. (If applying from Delhi, the letter is to be addressed to - The Visa Officer, Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt, New Delhi. If applying from Mumbai, the letter is to be addressed to - -The letter should be addressed to: Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mumbai)
  • As proof of financials, bank statement for the last 6 months with sign, seal and name of the signatory 
  • Confirmed return air ticket along with hotel booking details showing check-in and check-out dates, hotel address and contact details of the applicant.
