Nestled along the eastern coast, Vourvoulos Beach boasts dark volcanic sand, pebbles and crystal-clear waters, creating a picturesque setting for relaxation. With few crowds, the beach is often the best place to relax in quiet. It is a good spot to snorkel and swim, however sometimes the wind is too strong making the sea unfavourable for any water activity.
To reach Vourvoulos Beach, one can drive or take an ATV from Fira towards the northeast, enjoying scenic views along the way. However, it is best not to use Google Maps and follow the signs on the road instead. A restaurant on the beach rents sunbeds and umbrellas. You might get them for free if you order something. As the beach is pebbly, it is recommended to use swim shoes or slippers.
