Museum of Prehistoric Thera, Santorini Overview

The Museum of Prehistoric Thera, located in Fira, exhibits Santorini's history and ancient civilization. It houses findings from the excavation of the ancient village of Akoriti, Potamas, Thera and many others areas of Santorini. It consists of exhibits such as marble statues, weapons, tools, jewellery, objects of everyday use, wall painting and more.

The Museum of Prehistoric Thera is divided into four different sections. The first section showcases Fira’s history, the second Fira’s geology, the third houses findings of the Neolithic and post-Cycladic era and the last section consists of prehistoric collection from Akoriti town. Some of the prominent exhibits are the figurine of a golden goat, a vase for storing oil, and oval-shaped vases.
