Raya Islands

Racha Island, Phuket Overview

Koh Racha, also known as Raya Islands, comprises two beautiful islands with stunning cottony white sand beaches, peaceful bars, and glorious snorkeling and diving spots. Patok beach, located on a long U-shaped bay with powdery white sand, is the main beach. Ko Racha Yai and Ko Racha Noi are the two islands, the former being the main island.

Koh Racha Yai is the bigger island and Koh Racha Noi the smaller one with the former being more developed. You are also to find a better selection of restaurants, bars, and bread and breakfast options at Koh Racha Yai Island than at Koh Racha Noi. The interior of the island is steep and filled with exotic vegetation. You can trek on the marked paths to get to the flatter areas. Most tourists prefer Koh Racha Yai over Noi as the latter is uninhabited and there are no accommodation options. The only three resorts on this island are the luxurious Racha Phuket Resort, Baan Raya Resort and the modest Bungalow Raya Resort. After landing on the u-shaped Ao Tawan Tok bay, people often frequent the luxury resort - The Racha and enjoy strolling walks and quiet relaxing vacation on this island.
