Pune to Panchgani

Road Conditions

The Pune Satara Highway is really well built and is properly developed. The traffic on this route is pretty smooth on the weekdays, but be prepared to face heavy traffic on weekends.  The roads are good, and clear sign boards throughout ensure that you reach your destination without much difficulty. Also, there are ample local restaurants and dhabas on the way, so make sure that you stop for a delicious meal while on this route.

Buses are easily able to cover the distance between the two places in about 3 hours, and thus traveling to Panchgani by bus is a time-saving and comfortable option. Buses that are run by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation, as well as those operated privately,  ply frequently on this route, and thus travelers also have the option of choosing a bus that best suits their schedule. The fares for buses on this route start from as low as INR 210 and then increase depending on the bus service chosen. The shortest time taken to by a bus to reach Panchgani is 1 hour and 10 minutes ( Paulo Travels), while the maximum time is taken by the MSRTC operated buses.  

Commuters can board the bus from different boarding terminals that are spread all across Pune as per their convenience. These boarding points include Swargate, the Pune Railway Station, Pune Wakad (near Ginger Hotel), Pune–Hinjewadi Bridge (near Ranjai Hotel) and the Pune - Chandni Chowk S.T Bus Stop on the Pune Mumbai Highway. 

On the other hand, the dropping points in Panchgani include the Panchgani Bus Stand, Panchagini - Nagarpalika Bus Parking (opposite the Dr. Ambedkar Garden), Sherbaugh and Bilhar. The Panchgani Bus Depot is located near the main city center, and thus you can easily reach your final destination after de-boarding, by simply booking a cab or taking a local bus.
