It is one of the best beaches in New York City for family groups and surfers.
It's famous for a wide stretch of pristine white sand & pleasant waves ideal for surfing, with the view of mansions in the back. The crowd peaks during the summer. For parking, you will either need a day pass ( for $50) or a resident permit. There are multiple food stalls right at the beach (Herni's Cafe & Cooper's Cafe being the best among them) & also many other restaurants within walking distance. There are rental umbrellas($15) and chair($10) services available, as well as bathrooms and outdoor showers right at the beach. Lifeguards are present during the day time( up to 5 pm).
