Rose Main reading room, New York City Overview

In midtown Manhattan, near Bryant Park is located the most famous branch of New York public library; he Stephen A. Schwarzman Building.

The Rose main reading room, located on the third floor of this library has the architecture of 16 meter high ceilings & paintings of clouds and skyscrapers high up on the ceilings which are the main attractions of this Beaux-Arts-style building. In this 500 seater reading room, either you can explore the thousands of reference materials available on the adjoining shelves or request a book from the Milstein stacks(with around 4 million books & also one of the biggest book stacks in the world). In 1998, the reading room was renovated & renamed to Rose main reading room in honor of the daughter of a trustee. The library also offers around 93000 programs a year for free.
