Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Sprawling over 52 acres within a small walking distance from Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden has been welcoming around a million visitors annually since its foundation in 1910.

Nestled by Mount Prospect Park, it boasts about nurturing more than 14,000 taxa along with the special attractions like gardens within the garden, Steinhardt Conservatory with C.V. Starr Bonsai Museum, aquatic plant house, art gallery and 3 climate-themed pavilions. Visit during December to February from Tuesday till Friday to get free admission. From romantic spots to kids’ interactive guide, community horticulture to education programs and conservations –there is something for everyone. Summer specialities include water-lilies, meadow blooms and roses while in Spring, you can attend the Hanami cherry blossom festival. The highlights of the park are Plant Family Collection, water garden, Japanese Hill-and-Pond garden, Shakespeare Garden, Native Flora Garden, Cranford Rose Garden, Alice Recknagel Ireys Fragrance Garden and Children’s Garden. Walk along the Celebrity Path to reach Alfred T. White Amphitheatre and enjoy performances and concerts.
