Tsuboya Yachimun Street, Naha Overview
A 300 metre stone-paved lane in the quarter where the Ryukyu court gathered its scattered kilns in 1682. Yachimun means pottery in Okinawan, and the studios along it still fire and sell their own work rather than stocking souvenirs made elsewhere, which is what separates it from the arcades ten minutes away. Two old climbing kilns survive on the street itself.
