Fukushuen Garden, Naha Overview
A full-scale Chinese garden opened in 1992 in Kumemura, the quarter settled by families sent from Fujian in the 14th century to advise the Ryukyu court. Fuzhou paid for it and shipped the stone. Pavilions, a waterfall and koi ponds fill a compact site, and at 200 yen it is the cheapest formal garden in the city. Closed on Wednesdays.
