Tamaudun Mausoleum, Naha Overview
A stone mausoleum cut into rock in 1501 for the Second Sho dynasty, holding the remains of eighteen Ryukyuan kings and queens. It stands a few minutes from Shuri Castle but has its own gate, its own 300 yen ticket and its own UNESCO listing, so plenty of people walk straight past it. Look for the carved stone lions along the roofline.
