Magome and Tsumago on the Nakasendo, Nagoya Overview
Two Edo post towns on the old inland road to Kyoto, linked by eight kilometres of trail through forest and farmland. Walking Magome to Tsumago takes two to three hours and is the downhill direction. Tsumago keeps the stricter preservation, with cables buried and cars kept out by day; Magome is prettier and more commercial. Fifty minutes out by limited express.
