Korankei Gorge, Nagoya Overview
Three to four thousand maples planted along the Tomoe river since the seventeenth century, lit after dark through November, and one of the most photographed autumn sites in Japan. Outside that month it is a pleasant river gorge and not much more. It is also further than it looks: closer to two hours each way, whatever the shorter claims say.
