Mumbai to Munnar

Munnar does not have an airport of its own and as such the best way to reach Munnar by flight is to take a flight for Kochi formerly known as Cochin. Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport from Munnar located approximately 110.2 km from Munnar.

Local Transportation from Cochin International Airport: From Cochin International Airport one can take a prepaid taxi from the prepaid taxi booth or can hire a cab to drive you to Munnar. Alternatively you can even take a taxi or bus to Aluva which is the nearest city from Cochin International Airport at 14 kms and from the Aluva KSRTC bus depot take any of the numerous buses available for Munnar.

Munnar does not have a railway station of its own and the nearest railway station from Munnar is Aluva railway station, located at a distance of only 110 kms. From there one can easily get a cab or bus to Munnar. Alternatively one can even take a train to Kochi also known as Ernakulam railway station located at distance of 130 kms from Munnar and from there either take a taxi/cab or bus to Munnar. Preferable local transportation from Aluva: Aluva is only 112 km approximately from Munnar and there are plenty of transportation option available for Munnar. You can easily catch a private bus to Munnar from right outside the Aluva railway station or you can also get a KSRTC bus from KSRTC bus depot located right across Aluva railway station. Buses for Munnar are available as early as morning 2:00 AM and the entire bus journey to Munnar would take a maximum of 4 hrs.  
Besides that there are plenty of cabs available for Munnar right outside Aluva railway station itself. Cabs being fast can get you to Munnar in around 2 hrs via NH 85. The average cab fare on this route is approx Rs 3000 in an Indica or similar cars.

Preferable local transportation from Ernakulam: Ernakulam junction is a major junction in South India with numerous trains connecting it to various parts of the country. There are provision for prepaid taxis and autos available right outside the railway station. These taxis can easily take you to Munnar directly from the junction or you can take the auto to the KSRTC bus stand or to Vytilla Mobility Hub for private buses and board a bus to Munnar. There are several buses for Munnar available from KSRTC bus stand. Alternatively you can even hire a cab to take you to Munnar comfortably.
