Aquatica, Kolkata Overview
Aquatica is a water theme park and resort in Kolkata having many exciting themed rides, slides, entertainment and recreational activities for all their guests. The water park occupies over 75000 square feet of area and provides for a pleasant respite from the scorching summer heat. They provide lockers for the visitors to keep their belongings securely. With many rides one can choose from, the young and the old, both are bound to find something to suit their requirement. Rides at Aquatica
- Adventure water rides: Those who want to get their adrenaline pumping can go for the adventure water rides at Aquatica. Some of these are the Jungle Safari, Black Hole, Raft Slide and the Cyclone. The jungle safari is managed by a computerised system that ensures equal distribution of vehicles all over the ride. Sliding through the twists and turns of the Jungle Safari is an exhilarating experience in itself. The Black Hole is another exciting high speed ride that goes through twists and turns from a height of 40 feet above the ground. It is one of the best adventure rides in Aquatica. The Raft Slide is a magnificent rubber raft slide that takes the riders through loops and curves all the way from the top of the ride to a shallow pool at the bottom. The cyclone is a thrilling bumpy ride and as its name suggests it blasts down the participant from a height of 40 feet down a long tunnel and spins them through a funnel before they exit through the eye of the storm into a pool underneath. One can go in for high speed, 40 feet vertical free fall drop into a ride that's elevated 75 degrees to replicate a Pendulum drop. The Park also has a 40 feet tall multilane mat racer where guests can get a high speed mat slide.
- Lazy rides: If one is visiting the water park to unwind, they can opt for the Wave Pool, Lazy River, Family Pool or the Niagara Falls. Aquatica has the largest wave pool in that part of the country and can accommodate about 4000 people at one time and has waves just like an original sea. The Lazy River is a channel of water that runs 500 metres in length over which guests can gently float to relax and unwind. The Niagara Falls is a magnificent manmade structure that resembles a natural waterfall. It has water cascading down the rocky, uneven structure from a height of 65 feet. At a time, about 400 people can enjoy under the waterfall. Aquatica is indeed a perfect place to slow down and get ready for the hectic week ahead.
- Aqua Dance: If dancing is your thing, the Aqua Dance floor is a perfect hangout for you. This is where most of the youngsters head to shake a leg under water showers all above them. The Aqua Dance Floor also has water jets on the floor that multiply the thrill of rain dancing/ aqua dancing. The place is also called Rain Disco, and they have a DJ who plays the latest Bollywood and Fusion Beats for the guests to have a blast.
- Events Held at Aquatica: Aquatica is an expansive water park and serves as a venue for several events and programs, whether, private, corporate or entertainment purposes. It is often a venue for concerts, exhibitions, promotional activities, get-together, celebrations etc. Some important sports events and festival celebrations have also been held here especially the Holi Parties.
