Southwestern Townships or simply Soweto, displays a different side of Johannesburg. It gives an opportunity to explore what life is like in South Africa city suburbs.
Located almost twenty kilometres southwest of Johannesburg, Soweto opens the historical chapters of freedom fights. Also the birthplace of the struggle for democracy, Soweto being far away from the main city was a home to black labourers, who were kept away from the most of the urban and suburban Johannesburg. Soweto also has the Mandela House museum, where Mandela used to live before he was imprisoned.
