Nehru Park, Jalandhar Overview

The Company Bagh, formerly known as the Nehru Park, had its name changed after Independence. To this day, it continues to be one of the oldest parks in Jalandhar, Punjab. It is situated near the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation (JMC), easily accessible via buses, trains or autos. The park was recently renovated with a musical fountain, fancy electric lights, an entrance via three gates located at different areas of the garden, children’s fountain and a play arena with slides and swings. People usually come here for morning and evening walks. Jogging has been an everyday activity after the construction of a jogging pathway.

Nehru Park: The oldest park in Jalandhar
The oldest clock tower of the city was carefully engineered and still stands as a common attraction point of the park. A memoir for Mahatma Gandhi has been staged in the form of a white coloured statue with peripheral fencing, thus avoiding any irregularity in its structure by animals. There is a library documenting India’s history of her struggle for freedom.
The lush green area decorated with trees and fragrant flowers welcomes locals and tourists for a leisurely time. They often come here to meditate or reconnect with the history of India. The park is spread over an area of 3 acres and has become a popular picnic hotspot of Jalandhar.

Its recent construction involved a modern musical fountain, a concrete pathway for pedestrians, three entrance gates, electrical lights, beautifully carved wooden benches, rain shed and a children’s play arena.
