Vidyadhar Garden, Jaipur Overview

He is also celebrated for being the chief architect in designing the beautiful and elegant city of Jaipur. Constructed with a unique blend of Mughal and Hindu designs, the garden is now one of the most popular picnic spots in the town and is a visual treat for the tourists owing to its flamboyant lush green landscapes and elaborate architectural patterns. Architecture of Vidyadhar Garden

Constructed on the premise of the ancient Shilpa Shastra- the ancient Hindu treatise on architecture, Vidyadhar Garden are a perfect blend of the traditional HIndu and Mughal architectural designs and patterns. Besides the regular lakes, fountains and flower beds, the tranquil garden also boasts of elaborate pavilions, courtyards and galleries. The walls and the pillars are adorned with beautiful motifs and designs depicting the life and times of Lord Krishna. In addition to that, there is intricate mirror and lattice work, and carvings to better the visual appeal.

Night Tourism in Vidyadhar Garden

Lately, Vidyadhar Garden has lately also opened its gates for night tourism. The garden looks ethereal in the light of the glowing moonlight. The lakes shimmer with reflection and the fountains shine bright. More than that, the evenings present a lovely picture when the amber light of the sun floods the garden space. Vidyadhar Garden is considered one of the best places in Jaipur to watch a setting sun amidst the hills.

The interiors are also lit up in bright golden bulbs and fairy lights. There is a magnificent step well at the lower end of the garden which is adorned with beautiful coloured lights. However, the light fountain is the actual USP of the night tourism. There is an additional ticket of INR 100 for visiting the garden in the nights.

How to Reach

Vidyadhar Garden is situated on the Jaipur - Agra Highway near Sisodia Rani ka Bagh. It is roughly around 15 kms from the city. There are regular buses plying on the route that you can take to reach the garden. Alternatively, you can book cabs or drive down to the venue.
