A fine choice of cuisine is available on the beach including cafés, BBQ joints and restaurants. One may even go ahead and set up their own BBQ station and have a gander oat playing the role of a specialized chef. The BBQ area is set up at the north of the beach and can easily be accessed by foot.

Cococabana, a French-Mediterranean, is one of the most popular eateries located on the beach and promises mouth-watering meals providing gratification to the highest extent. One may find everything from comforting, juicy burgers, to a refined, spicy piri piri prawns accompanied by special fruity island blends, aromatic concoctions of tea and coffee, and delicious cocktails.

Best Time to Visit

October to January is the period of time most favorable for visiting Shek O Beach, as a result of pleasant weather. Weekends are recommended as the best time to visit due to greater activity. Avoid travelling to Shek O Beach in July/August to avoid unpleasant monsoon weather.

How To Reach Shek O Beach

MTR – Get on the Island Line to Shau Kei Wan Station, take Exit A3, then board Bus no. 9 at Shau Kei Wan Bus Terminus.

Bus – Take the Red Minibus and get off at the stop nearest to the Shau Kei Wan MTR Exit A3, followed by Bus no. 9 at Shau Kei Wan Bus Terminus.

Taxi – Taxis are available as a direct means of transport to the destination.

Give preference to use of public transport rather than travel by car as parking may pose an issue at the destination
