Shukkei-en Garden, Hiroshima Overview
A 1620 daimyo garden of miniaturised valleys, bridges and a central pond, built for the Asano lords and laid out to be walked in a loop. It stood 1.3 km from the hypocentre and survived; hundreds of people fled here afterwards and many died on the lawns. Knowing that changes the walk.
