Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall, Hiroshima Overview
A sunken circular hall of remembrance lined with a panorama of the ruined city built from 140,000 tiles, one for each person thought to have died by the end of 1945. Downstairs is an archive of survivor testimony and photographs you can search by name. It is free, it is a national institution rather than a city one, and it is the part of the park most visitors walk past without realising it is there.
