Mitaki-dera, Hiroshima Overview
A temple founded in 809 on a wooded hillside northwest of the centre, named for the three waterfalls that run through its grounds, with a vermilion two-storey pagoda moved here from Wakayama as a memorial to the bomb's victims. Free, quiet and almost entirely local. This is the one entry on the list that has nothing to do with 1945, which is exactly why it is worth keeping for the end of the day.
