Hiroshima Castle, Hiroshima Overview
A 1590s Mori clan castle destroyed in 1945 and rebuilt in concrete in 1958. Before you plan around it: the keep closed to the public in March 2026 over earthquake-resistance concerns and has not reopened, so the interior museum most guides still describe is not available. What remains open, and free, is the moat and castle park and the reconstructed Ninomaru buildings, which are worth an hour on the walk between the park and Shukkei-en.
