To reach Granada from India, one needs to get a flight to Madrid and get to Granada by train or bus.
There is a small airport in Granada that is situated at a distance of 12km from the city and it serves only a few flights, mainly for the budget airlines. It is better to fly to Malaga and then reach Granada. There are daily flights to Madrid by Iberia. There are also budget flights that fly to Rome, Paris and Barcelona.
It is pretty easy to get to Granada by car, but it is extremely difficult to navigate when you are in the city. The centre of the city is mainly restricted to public transport and pedestrians. The best way to access the city by car is if you use the Alhambra car park and then walk down to enjoy the beauty of the city.
There are three trains that run every day on the route to Algeciras via Antequerra and Ronda. Granada also comes in between the Almeria- Seville route with four trains on a daily basis. There are two daily trains to Madrid via Cordoba, one to Barcelona via Valencia and one to Linares Baeza.
There are regular bus services that run from Malaga, Seville, Madrid and Cordoba to Granada. There are also a few services from the port of Algeciras. The bus station is located about 2 miles from the centre of the city.
