Poy Sang Long is a rite of passage ceremony for young boys aged 7 - 14. During this three-day festival, temples are abuzz with celebration and activity, as boys are educated in the tenets of Buddhism and monkhood, which they are then expected to practice. They are dressed as princes, and paraded to temples on the shoulders of their elders, amidst ceremonious music.
